The MCSA SQL Server certification is the foundation for a professional career in Microsoft database technologies. This certificate validates that the holder have the core technical skills to build a sustainable career in IT. The MCSA certification for SQL Server current has two different tracks based on Microsoft's database products. We have MCSA SQL Server 2008 and MCSA SQL Server 2012.
In order to earn this certification, there are series of exams that must be taken and passed, these are outlined below for each of these certification tracks:
Microsoft Certified Solution Associate (MCSA) SQL Server 2012
- Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (Exam code: 461)
- Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Databases (Exam code: 462)
- Implementing a Data Warehouse with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (Exam code: 463)
Microsoft Certified Solution Associate (MCSA) SQL Server 2008
- Implementation and Maintenance (Exam code: 432)
- Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance (Exam code: 448)
Holders of MCSA SQL Server 2008 will have to sit for additional two exams in order to upgrade to MCSA SQL Server 2012. Earning this certification will qualify you for a position as a database developer or database analyst.
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert - MCSE: Data Platform
MCSE certification status is a globally recognized standard for IT professionals. Earning this certification validates that the holder have broad set of skills that are essential in building and maintaining enterprise-scale data solutions both on-premises and in cloud environments. In addition to validating these skills set, this certification also qualifies the holder for professional jobs such as database analyst and database designer.
MCSE certification takes MCSA certified professionals further in their career. Holders of MCSA SQL Server 2012 are required to sit for two exams in order to validate their solution expert status. These Exams are:
